Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are a crucial segment of the economy in many countries, including India. These enterprises play a significant role in fostering economic growth, generating employment, and promoting innovation. The classification of enterprises as micro, small, or medium is based on their size, investment, and turnover, and it varies from country to country. MSMEs are classified based on the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act of 2006. The classification criteria were updated in 2020 to align with modern business realities and provide better support to these enterprises.
